The Story
"All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware." Martin Buber
Passion for something always has a beginning. Sometimes the harshness of life spurs us on to discover our purpose. Lisha's purpose started formulating at a young age. As a child, she struggled with insecurity and loneliness. Food was a source of comfort which satisfied in the short term but enhanced the emptiness and insecurity.
Fast forward to her mid-40s, she has two young children but no energy to play with them. She thought, if this is how old age is, it sucks. She soon discovered that she was extremely anemic to the point her doctor wanted her to have a blood transfusion. Her health was a wreck. Then, things started turning around. She discovered a book called "The Maker’s Diet". She started changing the way she ate and the way she thought about food. She slowly started feeling better and getting more energy. However, the anemia was due to excessive bleeding, and she ended up getting a full hysterectomy. This improved her physical health, but, little did she know, it was wreaking havoc on her emotions. She went into depression and the negative self-talk was crippling. She got to the point where she was having suicidal thoughts. Thinking it would be so much easier than dealing with the daily suffering.
Thankfully, she was able to recover from this torture through a variety of means. The first was prayer. Through consistent focused prayer, the negative talk started to subside. Along with the desire for personal healing, she discovered that she wanted to help others. She became a Health Coach and started working with clients. She also discovered something called EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and enrolled to become a Practitioner. Through EFT, she was able to work through her past hurts and traumas and heal. EFT led her to Energy Medicine where she found that balancing energy helped her body and emotions naturally heal. Finally, she was given the opportunity to go through a mindfulness/meditation training. This was a game changer. With consistent meditation, she was able to lessen the part of her brain that obsessed over herself and how others affected her.
Life can be a struggle. Lisha's life is not perfect, but it is so much better and more joyful now. Because of her struggles, her passion and purpose are to help others along their journey to become healthier both physically and emotionally. Our bodies are amazing and can function properly and naturally heal when we give them what they need.
Age does not have to define how we feel.
