The Face of Anxiety Isn’t Always What You Think

You might not be curled up in a corner, breathing into a paper bag—but that doesn’t mean anxiety isn’t quietly shaping your reactions, relationships, and energy.
In fact, most anxiety doesn’t shout—it hides. It hides in your habits, your hesitation, your overthinking… even in your exhaustion.
Through years of holistic work, I’ve found that anxiety tends to mask itself in four distinct patterns—what I call Hidden Energy Blocks. Each one tells a story your nervous system has been trying to share.
Let’s meet them.

🌪 1. The Overthinker — Mental Block
This is the inner voice that never shuts off.
You're stuck in analysis paralysis, trying to prepare for every outcome so you don’t get blindsided. You crave certainty, and uncertainty feels threatening.
Telltale signs: looping thoughts, second-guessing, trouble making decisions.
Root cause: Often rooted in times when it wasn’t safe to trust your instincts or when mistakes led to shame.
💔 2. The Heart Holder — Emotional Block
You carry grief, betrayal, or hurt that’s never been fully processed.
Rather than risk more pain, your heart builds protective walls.
Telltale signs: feeling disconnected, overly sensitive, withdrawn in relationships.
Root cause: Early emotional wounds, often from key relationships that shaped your sense of safety and worth.
🧘♀️ 3. The Worn-Down Warrior — Physical Block
You’re exhausted—even when you sleep.
Your body is depleted from years of pushing, suppressing, or neglecting its needs.
Telltale signs: fatigue, chronic tension, burnout, headaches or gut issues.
Root cause: Long-term stress, suppressed emotion, or physical imbalance (like hormones or adrenal fatigue).
🌀 4. The Disconnected One — Energetic Block
You feel ungrounded, scattered, or like you're floating through life on autopilot.
You may even feel numb.
Telltale signs: procrastination, difficulty being present, zoning out or over-escaping.
Root cause: Often shows up after trauma, big changes, or years of living for others instead of yourself.
Do any of these sound familiar? You might resonate with one—or all four—at different times. That’s okay. These aren’t labels. They’re invitations to understand yourself better.
🧭 In my next post, we’ll explore how these hidden blocks tie into the 3 types of anxiety (emotional, physical, and financial). You won’t want to miss it.
